Producing and DirectingOtto Preminger

1968sledannounced that the once brilliant filmmaker Otto Preminger has lost his cinematic marbles, and his next film confirms that. After much of its own overt struggles with the Production Rules, the freedom of the new rating system seems to prompt Preminger to explore previously taboo material. Taken from a book by Marjorie Kellogg.Say you love me, Junie MoonIt offers new ways for Preminger to prove himself as a flamboyant, ever-changing young man. Instead, Otto followed Ingo.’s brother’s production.THATCleaning in Cannes and at the box office. SwearJunie MoonAn incomplete, unsuccessful movie that people don’t even want to talk about. Its star, Liza Minnelli, freshened up after a surprise hit, sterile cuckoo. He would immediately achieve great success in his career,Rod, and never looked back.

Sounds good, right? InJunie Moon’sdefense, his heart is definitely in the right place. I would say that this topic is about ten years ahead of its time. And everyone involved is serious. But there are also things to criticize.

Healing the sick Junie, Arthur and Warren (Liza Minnelli, Ken Howard)

Say you love me, Junie MoonIt looks like a great opportunity for Otto Preminger: Three ‘incomplete’ and frustrated outcasts team up to heal their wounds and find a way to cope with the harsh world outside. Preminger asked Bob Dylan to provide a theme song, but found a good replacement in Pete Seeger. The famous folk singer appeared on the bookend scene while walking through the Sequoia forest singing.”Old demon time.”The best part of the movie is a worthwhile call for people to come together to help them survive.

I wish the rest of the movie had a clue as to what it was doing. Preminger is too preoccupied with alternative lifestyles to realize that his movie is flying in all directions. The trilogy is basically good, but the side dialogue does nothing more than change the story and put an exclamation point in every scene. Too many scenes fail. Each character is given an extended backlash. Liza’s Junie is faced with a senseless graphic horror scene in which a repressed sex maniac causes her to give her acid. Sad as hell, it doesn’t explain anything: the bad guy (Ben Piazzahanging tree) is never heard from again. Technically the acid attacker is a bad guy who needs help even more than our trio.

Warren’s past is covered in a flashback that saw him abandoned by his mother and raised by a gay artist (Leonard Frey). This episode was made to make fun of the chic gay antics. Preminger seems to balance that out with nude scenes of allowed women courtesy of curvy Anjelique Pettyjohn. The movie is Ken Howard’s feature film debut. Arthur is the victim of bad school kids. Badly stylized scenes using muffled images and makeup to show their torturers to Bmoon strike) was a school cook who threatened to castrate young Arthur. Arthur is given inappropriate clothes and walks with a rough gait, alluding to his childhood emotional dominance; looks like a sweaty Frankenstein monster.

Many of the scenes with Liza Minnelli are very well done, especially the incredible makeup talent. His scar is realistic in every detail, discoloring his skin and causing his lips to curl and eyebrows to pop. Not Phantom of the Opera Extreme, but serious enough to frighten children and disgust adults. Minnelli will be lauded for this risky choice to lessen her own appeal, which is almost the same as Peter Lorre’s return. The face behind the mask. In the year of ‘liberation’ in 1970, wounded soldiers and children with all manner of ugly disfigurements remained hidden; according to meJunie MoonIt works fine when Liza appears on the screen. We just got word that her mother, Judy Garland, died while rehearsing.Junie Moon, and his performance may to some extent reflect his emotional state.

The gay scene movie of Preminger, which was a big party, was less successful. Unable to walk, Warren was taken everywhere by Fred Williamson’s friendly ‘Beach Boy’, a hotel employee. The characters are not fully described. Beach Boy dedicates Warren to enjoying the weekend just because he likes her. But he also seems outspoken (at least this weekend). Warren rejects the advances of a ‘socially exposed’ bisexual who guarantees him a good time, but finds him on a double date during a fixed, beach makeup session with a woman (Emily Yancy). The only movie cliché that is less respected than the “loyal gay friend of the heroine” is the gay theme, which neutralizes by letting a gay man find out. He can do this with a woman. The next day, Warren tells Arthur about his ‘weird adventure’.

Totally Inactive, the wealthy landowner of the Miss Gregory trilogy (Kay Thompson ofsmile) stopped by the leopard print Rolls Royce with a dinner invitation in his castle, which was imported from Europe. Miss Gregory’s rude responses to the group’s illness go beyond frankness. The visit was interrupted after Warren tried to persuade him to go for a walk by promising a monetary reward. Wretched. Gregory’s character is portrayed with little skill, she may well be the best friend of Disney’s Cruella de Vil.

In contrast, the charming James Coco was so friendly and helpful, a real asset. But the idea of paying for a big vacation for three strangers is almost too foreign. You know, small town fish stalls have big bucks. The Lonely Mermaid is as valuable as any trio; I guess his reward is getting accepted into their group and maybe having to support them. The ultimate emotional failure occurred when Julie brought the terminally ill Minnie home one afternoon to keep her happy. Minnie had a few moments in the garden to limp with Warren, but not much.Junie MoonHe had good ideas to express, but kept stumbling.

The idea of opposing the film’s freedom to install and release the screw was not considered. Having trouble does not give one person the right to cheat on another. The welfare system is seen as something worth gambling on. While Warren and Junie make things difficult for the hospital staff, Nancy Marchand spends her time playing the muffled, ungrateful nurse. But Anne Revere gets free tickets for helping out with her welfare benefits. Clever deception of Warren and Co. She makes them look like freelance scammers about the beach hotel. It’s not nice to have Beach Boy help them cheat, even with the lame ‘with him’ last line: “We blacks have to stick together.”

Players ultimately doubt that the ‘delicate’ film captures any real human problems. Junie and Warren agreed when Arthur announced that he would stop prescribing to prevent his brain from misbehaving and prevent his severe seizures. The man needs love and acceptance, but we the audience think it’s much more important to properly diagnose Arthur’s illness. BenefitsJunie MoonThey encouraged each other to spread wings and fly, but none of them acted truly responsibly.

What is judgment? Savant clearly loves movies about train wrecks. Besides sure successes, they can be just as fun as second guessing – where did they go wrong? Could I have done better? (Answer: no.) Liza Minnelli fans needn’t rush to check this out. She does well in the role, surmounting some lame dialogue and confusing scenes. The film did not permanently damage anyone’s career. Robert Moore was founded as a stage director and soon moved into popular film and television directing.

Olive Films’Blu-raybetweenSay you love me, Junie MoonIt’s a good HD coding of a movie that even Otto Preminger’s most staunch advocates labeled a dog. It’s not that bad. Colors are good and Boris Kaufman’s cinematography is good. Using fewer tracking shots and more zooming, Preminger seemed completely indifferent to his handling style. Composer Philip Springer finds some of the melodies pleasing and plays the strings whenever one of Arthur’s ‘attacks’ happens.

We are grateful for the English subtitles, despite the mistakes, confusing words, and misreading others in seemingly impossible ways. A computer program that does basic transcription? Subscribers can be really distracting.

Saul Bass is said to have designed the film’s signature title logo, but not used that logo, as seen on the soundtrack album cover, right. That’s the only thing I found that the bass design didn’t really work for. What do the arms mean? What do missing fingers mean? A red patch-stained heart or a bloodstain? A title logo or a visually misguided movie review?

One last observation -Junie MoonThere is the first reference I remember about accessibility issues for the disabled. Warren liked the house Junie rented and appreciated the way she built a ramp for her wheelchair. But when he saw that the house had the usual narrow bathroom door, he had a nervous breakdown. Arthur immediately began to expand.
