About Hani and Ishu’s Fake Dating Guide

Everyone loves Humaira “Hani” Khan – she is casual and one of the most popular girls in school. But when she opens up to her bisexual friends, they defame her by saying she can’t be a ‘girl if she only dates guys. Panicked, Hani reveals that she is in a relationship with a girl her friends absolutely hate – Ishita “Ishu” Dey. Ishu is the opposite of Hani. She is an over-educated person who hopes that being a good girl will help her stay on track for college. However, Ishita agrees to help Hani have a chance to be elected leader if Hani helps her become more popular.

Despite the mutual benefit agreement, they begin to develop real feelings for each other. But relationships are complicated and some people will do anything to prevent two Bengali girls from achieving happiness forever.

If you know me, you won’t be surprised to know that I love the relationship between Ishu and his sister in HANI AND ISHU’s MASTER GUIDE. I won’t spoil anything but it definitely appealed to me and I think it really added a lot to the story.

I also love that Hani and Ishu are really different from each other and have a really different approach to life and their connection to each other. At first, I thought Hani’s relationship with her friends didn’t make much sense – then the more I thought about it, the more I understood why it made sense. I love how Ishu and Hani helped them see the gaps or unhealthy parts of their relationships with other people in their lives. It felt so real to me and completely involved me in the story.

Another thing I love is that it’s a positive faith story. I find it easy to focus on negative experiences people believe and valid stories, experiences that inevitably happen. But I love having stories about teenagers who value their beliefs and become better people for what they believe in. I think we need these stories too.

Henna Wars fans will surely find a lot to love in this book. I think it will be of interest to readers who like it.SAINTS AND MISFITS S. K. AliandMUSIC FROM THE OTHER WORLD by Robin Talley.
