One of the best mixed treasure hunt paranormal series on DiscoveryThe mystery of the blind frog farm, now in the second part. The series becomes increasingly mysterious and complex in its findings and overlapping events like Duane and Chad Ollinger.

Their crews attempt to excavate a water-filled cave that contains a strange box that turns out to be from the time of Montezuma, whose ruler is said to be hiding gold from the Conquistadors in Utah’s Uintah Valley.

An important component of the program’s integrity comes from the expertise and analytics of geologist and miner Eric Drummond.

he spokeTV show Aceexplores the finds, the new seasons, and his view of the Ollingers and their hunch that this farm near the famous Skinwalker Farm is a mystery and possibly a treasure.

After last season’s freezing winter closes, the Ollingers and Drummond, ranch guard Charlie Snider and inspector Jamie Dube return to Blind Frog Ranch to continue their search for Montezuma’s supposed treasure of Aztec gold.

Trying to get the box out of the cave was a near-death experience for the team; Eric discovered that the large rocks inside the box were boring and contained cylinders of gallium, which liquefied at room temperature. Why would anyone go to the trouble to do that and then bury the rocks in a box in a secluded water-filled cavern?

Eric is world-renowned for a number of important gems and minerals around the world. His expertise will help distinguish what is valuable, unusual and potentially dangerous on this site. Someone is trying very hard to investigate all their activities in this place.

In and around 1520 they were working with Montezuma allegedly burying gold in Utah to prevent the Spanish from seizing the metal.

If you’re watching, you know that the underwater boxwood specimen is carbon dated and identified as Golden Pine circa 1510-1555.

Drummond is now heavily involved, trying to unravel puzzling secrets – Aztec gold, military helicopters buzzing around the compound, armed intruders, and a murder investigation – which adds to his actions in a second season as his focus on science.

Duane Ollinger and crew will uncover all the stops and heavy machinery to find the treasure buried beneath Blind Frog Farm, even if the terrain turns against them every step of the way. Drummond sheds light on the new season.

April Neale: Eric, are you originally from New Jersey?

Eric Drummond:Yes like that. I graduated from high school in downtown Clark, New Jersey, Jersey. And then – go to college at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.

AN: You moved from the private sector to television production and I know that this program is not the first. What distracted you from the business side of applying your education to TV production?

Eric Drummond:Most of my 40-year geology career has been spent exploring minerals, gems, oil and things like that. So in 2012 I had the unexpected opportunity to try my luck on a TV show, and it’s called Ice Cold Gold.

So one thing leads to another and I consider myself one of the actors of that TV show. So this is an opportunity. And from there, other TV shows.

AN: How did Duane Ollinger, owner of Blind Frog Ranch, find you?

Eric Drummond:I believe it was Chad [Ollinger] who found me, and I think it was through social media. And he contacted me and finally I went out and visited them at this place. And Duane told me about the project he’s been working on for years.

AN: What was your first reaction to this place? What are your current impressions, and if so, how do they differ?

Eric Drummond:Well, we did have some discoveries, and some of the stories Duane told me turned out to be true. And in the beginning, there were stories about the treasure aspect and then the discovery of it, but also UFOs and the paranormal.

So strange things are happening out there. I will leave it there. We’ve made some discoveries and are on our way to doing more. I won’t go into the details of this. I will say that I have seen some strange things in my career and that not all of us can explain it.

AN: What was the weirdest thing you encountered when you went to the Blind Frog Farm?

Eric Drummond:I think for me it was the discovery of an element called iridium, which has a very high concentration in the earth, and iridium is a relatively rare element that is more common in space than on earth.

And there’s a kind of extraterrestrial aspect to it. So that’s just one of those fun facts. The other is gallium, which we found in the rocks of the cave. Thus, gallium is a scarce element and has relatively modern uses. And there are a lot of questions about that, how did it get there? Who put it there? What is it used for and how did they create it? And there are a lot of questions about it.

AN: How did your best scientific guess get there?

Eric Drummond:I think the gallium was planted there by humans. And again, the way we found it in the rock doesn’t seem like a natural element. On the other hand, Iridium, I have to think it might have something to do with a meteorite impact.

And we know that the dinosaurs went extinct, there was something called the CT Frontier when a giant meteorite hit the earth. And it is believed to be the cause of the great extinction.

They found a layer corresponding to the time the meteor struck, and it has a very high iridium content in it. So that’s the theory right now. So we are still investigating this.

AN: Chad is really looking for Montezuma’s gold. He said you’re not registered for mining rare elements, but you’re a scientist. From a scientific point of view, are you more excited to find these rarer elements than gold?

Eric Drummond:This is true. I’ve spent my career looking for things like gold, diamonds, rubies. And so you get excited when you come across something rare with relatively good value.

The good thing about the treasure is that if you find it, it has already been disposed of. So it has historical value and only intrinsic value. So no action is required. And so it’s all fascinating to me.

AN: There are two elements that confuse me in the new season. The woman, one of whom committed suicide, the mysterious emergency services who took her away, and the squirrel element. I feel like you’re not part of it. The other is detected surveillance. Talk to me about this discovery and guess what?

Eric Drummond:Duane has been telling me the story of the woman who died at the door since I first met her. So he told me this story and he told me over and over again, and I had to believe it was true.

Then the camera. We were scanning the horizon with binoculars, and I believe it was Charlie or Chad who noticed something a little odd on the Ridge, and we definitely got there, and it’s an elaborate setup. Terrible. And so someone set it up and followed us.

AN: Does NASA still own or care about this land? They found a NASA metal helmet dating back to 1985, so what’s your guess that NASA scientists are using this patch of land as a base to observe things?

Eric Drummond:Yes it is possible. To be honest, I’m up for the exploration side. I leave most of this research to Jamie and others. Maybe NASA is doing experiments there.

AN: You have hired LIDAR, a very precise 3D visualization tool. Using LIDAR is also very expensive and difficult. During your quest to map the interior of an underground cavern, what was your first reaction when you saw the shape and location of this box?

Eric Drummond:Very descriptive. LIDAR was used to map mines and cave systems. So it’s a powerful tool and it worked for us.

This image is very detailed and has a box in the middle. And so we use LIDAR and other techniques that I will use to explore other things like geophysical methods. That’s why it’s so impressive.

AN: Can you talk about what’s inside the box and core samples?

Eric Drummond:Yes, we found gallium in the rocks inside the box. And gallium appears to have been put into cylinders by man and placed on rocks.

These rocks have small cores. Why was it put there, what are they using it for, and how did it get there? Who put it there? These are all questions we will address in the future.

AN: If someone took the trouble to put this box inside this barrel structure, were these things so dangerous to humans that they were buried so deep, what would your instincts tell you? ? How do you feel about it?

Eric Drummond: Well, I guess they kept it for a reason, we’ll look into it. But they obviously don’t want anyone to find it for some reason.

And again, this probably goes back to why and what they use it for? It has some interesting modern uses, but how old is it? When was it put there? These are all questions we need to think about further.

AN: What do you think of each Blind Frog co-star?

Eric DrummondFirst of all, they’re both great guys. When you work on such a project, you bond with the people you work with and we have been working for a long time. Earthmoving season is short, so we work all night, you bond and take risks together.

Duane is just a wonderful person. He is very hardworking and all is well, hardworking. Sometimes we have our differences, but we take care of them like men. And so it’s all good, good guys. They all offer something different and suit us as a team.

AN: What is a Red Ice Gem?

Eric Drummond:Yes, it was a small startup deal while I was working on the first TV show I attended in the country of Greenland. This was the discovery of some large Ruby crystals, some of the largest in the world.

And it was my little attempt to help a Greenland geologist promote, process and sell them. That’s why he took up this direction himself. He’s a keen geologist. That’s why it’s a company that will promote small-scale, artisanal mining in Greenland in a culturally and environmentally responsible way. And the colored gems and then the diamond trade often had situations of slave labor like blood diamonds and the like.

So it just does the opposite of that. And that’s a way of promoting Greenland rubies. And at this point, my partner in Greenland took over this aspect of the business. But it was an excellent project.

After the TV show was cancelled, I started working in Greenland. I’ve worked there for eight of the last ten years, exploring things like diamonds, rubies, and gold. Unfortunately, COVID shut it down. But I look forward to returning and exploring Greenland.

AN: Where in the world have you been, or where have you been, perhaps not, what is the most rewarding in terms of exploration?

Eric Drummond:This is a good question. There are so many fields, I’ve worked hard to mine gold in Arizona, and it’s been great. I went to Africa in search of gold and diamonds. But Greenland should have been right there. And some places in Greenland where the ice has melted are so remote that I’m looking for areas that have probably never been visited before.

So it has that direction. There’s also Utah. I’ve worked in the oil industry before in Utah, Uintah’s basin and mountains are interesting, very remote.

And so everything is fine. It’s part of geology. You can go to some great places. South America is incredible, so it’s all part of it. And you see some interesting things. You also meet and meet some great people and you also face some challenges, but that’s it.

Mystery At Blind Frog Ranch airs Friday at 10 PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel.
