Multi-read content what factory was used in willy wonka

Consider some of the most iconic and mysterious characters of all time and the name of Willy Wonka comes to mind. Based on a story written by Roald Dahl, Wonka was first screened by Gene Wilder in ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’. The 1971 musical film held a special place in audiences’ hearts and has inspired many other stories and characters over the years.

The movie tells the story of a boy named Charlie who gets a chance to visit the chocolate factory of a rich man named Willy Wonka. Charlie was one of five children who won a Golden Ticket for the chance to experience Wonka’s specialty chocolate making. The movie does an incredible job of creating a weird Wonka factory where everything seems unreal. If you’re wondering where the movie was shot, here’s the answer.

Where was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory filmed?

‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ keeps its location uncertain for viewers, leaving us in the dark as to where such a story could be. Although the setting may seem more American or British, the movie was actually shot in Germany. The rationale behind moving production to Germany was to give the Wonka plant a much-needed distinction at the same time significantly lower costs. The main shooting location of the movie is Munich.

Munich, Germany

The highlight of the story is Willy Wonka’s factory. The exterior of the venue was filmed in Stadtwerke München. The factory’s eerie interiors – the Chocolate Room, the Invention Room and the Tunnel of Horror, among others – were filmed at Bavaria Studios in Bavaria Filmplatz 7, Geiselgasteig, Grünwald. For the ending scene, the shot from above at the factory is a shot of Nördlingen. Another part of the scene was filmed on Bößeneckerstraße.

The next highlight of the movie is Charlie’s house. The exterior of the house was shot on Quellenstraße, where a setting was made for the purposes of the film only. His school footage was shot at Katholisches Pfarramt St. Sylvester, Biedersteiner Strasse 1, Munich.

While the movie doesn’t tell us what town Charlie lives in, it does give us an idea of the place. Different neighborhoods of Munich were used for some of the scenes where we see Charlie walking around the city. In Grünwald there are venues such as Schloßstraße and Wilhelm-Keim-Straße, Ludwigsbrücke and Zeppelinstraße, Elisenstraße, Gottfried-Keller-Straße, Maximnstraße 39 Regierung von Oberbayern, Gebsattelstraße and Am Herrgeck.

The scene of Charlie’s mother’s laundry was filmed on Sammtstraße and Am Herrgottseck. Augustus’ interview scene was filmed at Hofbräukeller – Innere Wiener Straße 19. Bill’s Candy Shop, where Charlie discovered the Last Golden Ticket, was filmed on Lilienstraße.

Enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum), who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather (Jack Albertson). In the course of the tour, Willy Wonka punishes the four nastier children in various diabolical methods — one kid is inflated and covered with blueberry dye, another ends up as a principal ingredient of the chocolate, and so on –
