Multi-read content the book of lost things

After David’s mother died, the 12-year-old felt lonely and angry. Her mourning also includes her father’s remarriage and the birth of a son. David could not accept a replacement for his mother and felt no connection to his half-brother. He was more drawn into the world of books, a pastime he shared with his mother. As time goes by he starts hearing his books whisper to him, he has strange “pains” and then he sees a “curvy man” in the house, mine.

One scary day, he finds himself in a completely different world, a world filled with all kinds of characters like the stories he reads. Even while trying to find his way home, he should try to get rid of all kinds of threats as soon as the cold fairy. He had heard that the king of the land had a spellbook that could be the key, but the road to the castle was long and dangerous.

When he hears his mother calling him, David hopes that his life will somehow return to the way his mother was before she died. He just wanted his stepmother and younger brother gone. But is it possible to regain the lost life? His long journey through the land where nightmare stories come to life teaches him some lessons about the complexities of a fulfilling life.

The Book of Lost Thingsit also takes readers on a journey through the darkest parts of classic fairy tales yet to be imagined by Disney. We can’t help feeling David’s loss and pain, even when we realize that there are some things that cannot be magically repaired. This story is really about growing up, making sacrifices, and facing all the ups and downs life has to offer. Bittersweet and richly intertwined, and I find myself closing the tailgate with a satisfied sigh.

Rating: Average, mostly bloody violence. The hero of the story faces many monsters and fairy tale monsters and has some bloody deaths. Towards the end, the details of Crooked Man’s gruesome success aren’t too deep, but enough to point to immorality and the worst of human nature. There are some hints about sex but it was covered up so that a child wouldn’t really understand but adults would – that’s the bulk of the story: A young man comes out of his childhood next. adulthood.

A review of John Connelly’s The Book of Lost Things; this is a story based around retellings of classic fairy tales. it follows David, a young boy who struggles to maintain his certainty and happiness in WWII England, he finds solace in his books until, one day, his the characters in his books find him.

Connelly manages to write an original book with largely familiar material, and the end result if something charming, poignant, and hard hitting. He deals with universal feelings of isolation, and the story of growth is inspiring and emotional. Where the writing style may fall short, the honesty and sincerity of the words come through for the book and push it towards success.

6.5/10.
