Multi-read content movies about the revolutionary war

John Adams was excellent. A lot of the scenes, like after the White House was stripped naked on that muddy field, stay with you.

I like April mornings for the same reason. Especially when Tommy Lee Jones tells his boy to load more powder in his rifle because he’s aiming to kill a man. It puts a real weight on what he’s up to at this point.

I saw “Drums Along the Mohawk” on TCM last month. I thought the best scene was the one where Fonda was shocked and remembered the fight which turned out to be his improvisation.

I’ve loved Johnny Tremain since I was a kid and it’s still great entertainment, but the last time I saw it I felt like the best part was just what you said – James Otis made it clear what was to come.

Crossing is great and shows the cold reality of combat. I love the way they keep Washington calm in their boat even when they can’t bring a blizzard to full authenticity.

The Patriot shows the connection to the French and Indian Wars and how we fought the British back then. And what we have to thank the French for has helped us.

I haven’t seen the rest yet, but I’ll watch. Thanks very much!
