Drawing from the Concord Museum’s remarkable collection, as well as other public and private collections,Gunshots were heard from all over the world: April 19, 1775It brings together more than 50 extraordinary objects that testify to an important day in American history. The exhibition is the first time that many of these works have been exhibited together.

To be viewed at the Concord Museum from April 18 to September 21, 2014, the exhibition follows an hourly account of the actions of the British Governments and Patriots on April 19, 1775, presents a time of day and geographic schedule, and represents many communities. Around Boston – Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Arlington (Menotomy) and Cambridge – are militias that play an important role in the day-long conflict. Organized by Concord Museum curator David Wood and military expert Joel Bohy, the exhibition explores the events of the fateful day that started the eight-year war of independence and the role they played.
