Multi-read content is cas required to apply to law school
You have investedOnline LSAT test preparation, spent a paltry sum on great coffee to get you through your classes, enroll in the LSAT… and your next step is to enrollapplications, that’s right? Unfortunately there isn’t. One more step: Apply for CAS.
CAS? Who is she? or it? A law school? Not quite – CAS actually stands for “Credential Assembly Service”. It’s basically just a fancy way of saying “This is how LSAC will send your information to schools”. CAS is LSAC’s way of making it “easier” for students to apply to law school. you wouldtotal your score, your compilepresent letter, and submit it all in one large report for each law school you apply to. You don’t have to do anything (except pay a premium ransom)!
Here is a summary of the most important things you need to know about CAS and what it entails:
1. Academic certificate: You will needRequest a scoreboardwith your grades from every university course that you attended before graduating from university. Any institution where you attended or took courses must submit these credentials to the LSAC. This includes grades for dual-enrollment community college courses (even if you took those courses in high school), transfer facilities, study abroad programs, and summer schools. LSAC then calculates these scores into an “LSAC” GPA. If you have questions about how LSAC weights each tier in their calculation, this is broken down fairly wellyour website. (Fun Fact: If you are lucky enough to attend a college with a grade of “1”, i.e. 4.33, it will amaze anyone who does not attend a high school)
2. Letter of Recommendation: Does anyone remember applying to college? If not, here’s what’s new: you generally “abandoned” your right to see references, and they’ve been sent straight to the College Board (which is great). The same goes for admission to law school—this time with the LSAC. You may be thinking, “But how can I send my letters of recommendation to LSAC without seeing them?” Thanks to CAS, all you have to do is enter the information of your referrer, e.g. B. his name and email address, and LSAC will send him instructions on how to submit his compelling proposals. Worry-free and easy!
3. costs: LSAC published a different numberpackage “package”including CAS. However, if you buy the CAS yourself, it will cost you $195 (plus reports for each school – more details below). Obviously, sending electronic transcripts of grades, correspondence, and transcripts to law schools is more expensive than you think!
4. Do I really have to buy this? The short answer is yes. Most law schools require applicants to apply to the CAS. So, to apply to most law schools, you need to earn a CAS.
5. What is not included? It’s mainly the application fee – most schools have their own application fees, and LSAC charges an additional $45 “CAS fee” for each school you apply to. Basically, this $195 fee only covers the transcript summary and the creation of the letter of recommendation. (Unfortunately: That means the CAS fee also doesn’t include an emotional support pup during this stressful time. We know, alas.)
In short, you must buy a $195 CAS to apply to law school. It’s better to do that sooner rather than later. This allows you to submit your testimonials and letters of recommendationas soon as possible. While this can be a stressful and expensive process, think on the bright side: CAS will handle the application processEasierto you! We love easier. Imagine you had to summarizeobsessedTranscripts for every school you apply to – that would be a nightmare. So make sure those transcripts are ready and your referrers write letters explaining how awesome you are. Soon you will be a law school applicant!
