The 2020 election cycle has been one of the most contentious and divisive elections in living memory. Animosity and disdain for those whose views differ from our own have tarnished not only our public square but also our churches and families. But when the election is over, we are still members of the same nation, living shoulder to shoulder in the same communities, and worshiping in the same churches. We need to find ways to move forward together. The words of Abraham Lincoln’s 2nd inaugural address still speak to us today:
With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in [and] bind up the nation’s wounds…
We would like to start that process for the Biola community with a special live stream event. Join us as we hear from several members of our faculty reflecting on the election, sharing wisdom on sustaining unity amidst diversity, and helping us to draw near to God even as “the nations rage and kingdoms totter (Ps 46:6).”
