Multi-read content you’d be home now summary

Out ofNew York TimesBest-selling author bygirl in piecesandHow to befriend the darklaunches a gripping contemporary YA novel about addiction, family and finding your voice.

Emory “Emmy” is good. Not as strong as her beautiful sister Maddie and not as tough as her brother Joey. It takes up as little space as possible. When Joey returns from rehab, her parents ask her to be his guardian. She is also expected to continue leading in her scores and keeping things together following this summer’s tragic events. The only person who makes her feel like she’s being seen is her secret lover, Gage, but no one can find out… How long can Emmy maintain her careful balancing act?

Kathleen Glasgow’s previous YA novels, girl in piecesandHow to befriend the dark, which contains a powerful punch, tackles issues such as homelessness and grief. her latest novel,You are at home right now, continues to explore big, challenging issues – this time with a focus on teenage drug addiction and how it impacts a small-town American family and school community. This is an incredibly moving, engaging, and insightful read, appropriate for readers aged 14+ or adult YA readers.

You are at home right nowproves that you can never tell if someone is struggling inside. Siblings Emory and Joey come from a seemingly perfect, wealthy family, but they both face big challenges. Joey faces a war on drugs at such a young age, but it’s important to read about an issue that affects many young people.

The rumors surrounding Heywood High are a central element of this book and something I’m sure many students will identify with. Glasgow even included text messages and Instagram posts in the book. Emory is a strong protagonist who tries to stay by his brother’s side while managing his own relationships and growing up. Teen relationships, sex porn and revenge are here tooYou are at home right nowrelevant reading in dealing with such topical issues.

You are at home right nowincreased tempo throughout, leading to a heart-wrenching finale. Ultimately, this unflinching YA reading is difficult, but it is also hopeful, moving, and supports the power of brotherhood in overcoming difficulties.

Getting Things Done by David Allen is one of the staples of personal and professional productivity. Getting Things Done, or GTD for short has been on the top sellers’ list for more than a decade (it first came out in 2001) and with good reason. David Allen has managed to create a system that you can use both at work, at school and at home – it is almost universal.

The book though is rather complex and lengthy and you can get lost in the nitty-gritty of the it all. And when you are overwhelmed, you cannot be productive.

That’s why this video is so essential – in just 8 minutes, you’ll be able to understands the core principles of Getting Things Done and start applying them in your life. Not to mention, the video is completely FREE, while you’ll have to spend a few bucks to get your own copy of GTD.

Don’t get me wrong though, the book is rather great, but you have to have the patience to go through all of it and it does get rather technical at times.

The best course of action would be the following – watch the video, learn David Allen’s GTD concepts, apply them to your life and see how it goes. If you are happy with the results (as you most likely will be), head over to Amazon and get yourself a copy of the actual book.

This video will break down for you the core principles of GTD in only 5 steps – capture, process, organize, review and engage (it will make more sense once you’ve seen the video).

Watch the GTD summary, take action and apply it to your life and you’ll see dramatic results.

Understanding Getting Things Done has never been easier – it only takes 8 minutes.

Let me know if you have any questions in the comment section below. Also, make sure to let me know if there is a book you’d like me to summarise and review for you.
