Multi-read content columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492

One of the most important events in history happened in 1492. That is why our country celebrates this event with a national holiday on the second Monday in October.

For centuries, men and women in Europe have looked to the “ocean of darkness” and wondered if there is anything beyond the western ocean. Scholars believe you will sail beyond the edge of the world. There’s nothing out there. The shield of the Spanish coat of arms is engraved with the country’s national motto, Ne Plus Ultra, which means “Nothing is beyond”.

On August 3, 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed with two other ships – the Nina and the Pinta – and 100 men on the Santa Maria (a ship said to be the size of five canoes). Her first glimpse of the new world happened on October 12. They discovered an island they named San Salvador – meaning Holy Redeemer. Two weeks later, Santa Maria arrived on the island of Cuba.

Columbus’ return journey began in January 1493 and arrived in Portugal on March 4, 1493. The King of Spain changed the country’s motto, and it’s still the same today, Plus Ultra, meaning “There’s so much more”.

For centuries people have stood at the black hole of a grave, watching their loved ones descend to earth and wondering if there is anything other than death.

One day, more than two thousand years ago, the most important event in the history of the world happened when another adventurer embarked on a far more important journey and descended into the darkness of death and hell.

On Easter morning the Son of God rose from the tomb as if to say, “There is so much more. There is a paradise that exceeds your greatest expectations.” The Bible tells us in heaven, “God will wipe away every tear…and there will be no more death, no more mourning, no more outcry, no more pain” (Revelation 21:4).

Jesus promised: “In my Father’s house are many mansions; If not, I’ll tell you. let me prepare a place for you And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come and bring you back to me; where I am, there you also are” (John 14:2-3).

Jesus came down from heaven to describe what awaits us. And if God created heaven and earth in six days; we can only imagine what He has prepared for us in the 2000 years since Jesus ascended into heaven.

Anne Graham Lotz writes: “The Bible assures us that our Heavenly Father’s house needs neither sun nor moon to shine, for the glory of God gives it light… The Father left light. (Revelation 22:4) She describes heaven as “a place of preparation for a prepared people.”

Jesus promises that He will make a place for those who will confess their sins and accept His love and forgiveness. are you ready to go to heaven

In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue

He had 3 ships, he let from Spain

He sailed through sunlight wind and rain

He sailed by night he sailed by day

He used the stars to guide his way

90 sailors were aboard

Some men worked while others snored

Then the workers went to sleep,

And other sailed the ocean deep

Day by day they looked for land

They dreamed of trees and rocks and sand

October 12th their dreams came true

You never saw a happier crew

Then in 1492, when columbus sailed the ocean blue

In 1492, when Columbus sailed the ocean blue

Thanks for watching!

This is the song I taught my students. They loved it and learned about Christopher Columbus.

Columbus’ First Voyage

to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”

Columbus sailed the ocean blue,

Ocean blue, ocean blue.

Columbus sailed the ocean blue

In 1492.

He sailed west to reach the east,

reach the east, reach the east,

He sailed west to reach the east

In 1492.

Asian shores he never reached,

Never reached, never reached,

Asian shores he never reached,

In 1492.

Instead, a whole new (or – world) land he found,

Land (world) he found, land (world) he found,

Instead, a whole new land (world) he found,

In 1492.

CrypitdCrow u0026 Themuffinnuggets make an “educational” video for school. Here’s hoping for an 8! (Pretty much equivalent to an A+).

Edit: My grades were: 6, 6, 6. Satanic Marks are good I guess?

I’d like to apologize for the style changes thru out the video, basically, we had a good video, but I had to add more info after we finished, and I’m like half asleep, which is why the info with pictures parts are awful.

Btw the Title is what our teacher kept telling us so we’d actually remember, it worked.

I hope someone gets some info from this…

Enjoy?
