1. Incredible food
It’s no secret that Mexican food is one of the most popular dishes in the world. After all, who doesn’t love tacos? In fact, Mexican food is so famous and admired that it’s even recognized by UNESCO. In 2010, UNESCO officially recognized Mexican cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
2. Ancient Temples
Mexico boasts one of the most vivid and richest ancient histories in the world. The development of early Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Olmec, Maya, Zapotec and Aztec can be seen across the country. Mainly in the form of temples, pyramids and other ruins. The most famous of them are Chichen Itza, Palenque and Teotihuacan.
3. Smooth white sand beach
For a country as vast and geographically diverse as Mexico—we are mountains, volcanoes, lush jungles, mooncakes—beaches are Mexico’s most iconic landscape. And it’s not difficult to understand why. With more than 9,000 kilometers of coastline and more than 500 beaches, there is something very special about sand and sunshine in Mexico. Thanks to the diversity of the regions, there are many different types of beaches, from the cliffs on the shores of the Gulf of California to the calm paradise waters of the Caribbean.
4. Chocolate
Mexico has a reputation for being one of the top chocolate destinations in the world, and not without reason. After all, Mexico is the birthplace of chocolate! Yes, the Olmec Indians are said to have been the first miraculous harvesters of cacao some 4,000 years ago. If you’re planning to visit Mexico, be sure to visit a chocolate plantation to learn about the process from pea to bar.
5th Day of the Dead
Mexico is home to some of Latin America’s most famous festivals. Namely Day of the Dead orDia de los Muertos.The annual event, held on November 1st each year, is a grand celebration of those who have died. Celebrations traditionally include decorating an ofrenda (family shrine) and celebrating family celebrations. There are also countless vibrant and colorful parades across the country, filled with intricate skull drawings and elaborate costumes.
6. Mariachi Band
Another aspect of Mexican culture recognized by UNESCO is mariachi music. The regional folk music of Mexico is one of the greatest claims to fame and popularity in the world. Traditionally, a mariachi band consisted of four or more members dressed in charro and playing a variety of guitars and brass instruments.

Mexico is a deeply religious country with over 80% of Mexicans identifying themselves as Catholic.
