Multi-read content abbott and costello whos on first

William “Bud” Abbott and Lou Costello are variety comedians who have found fame on radio, film, and televisionAbbott and Costello. In 1938 they performedWho is the first?, a rapid-fire routine reworked from many early 20th-century sketches, first on radio. It became a classic back then. From Wikipedia:

Abbott and Costello perform “Who’s Up First?” so many times in her career, rarely twice in the same way. They performed the routine several times for President Franklin Roosevelt. A shortened version was featured in the group’s 1940 film debut, A Night in the Tropics. The duo did a small repeat in their 1945 film The Naughty Nineties, and it is the longer version that is widely considered their best recorded performance. They also performed “Who’s on First?” on radio and television (notably on the Abbott and Costello Show episode “The Actor’s Home”, considered by many to be the definitive version).
In 1956, a gold record of “Who Got Up First?” was housed in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York. A video clip (from The Naughty Nineties) is now playing continuously on screens in the hall.
In 1999, Time was voted the best comedy sketch of the 20th century.
An early radio recording was entered in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2003.
In 2005, the line “Who’s on top first?” was included in the American Film Institute’s list of 100 Memorable Quotes in Movies.
