“Sesame Street” airedThe first episode was in November 1969 and has since grown into one of the longest-running children’s series in US history. A lot has changed over the years, and while Sesame Street has always been about bringing joy, sharing, and bringing joy to young children, filming locations for the show have varied.

Based onNew York Magazine, the show was first produced at Teletape Studios on 81st Street and Broadway in New York City, 20 blocks from the avenue that the city will one day rename Sesame Street in honor of the show.
